Introduction
Carbon is the chief alloying element present in carbon steels. These steels are designated by AISI four-digit numbers. They contain chromium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, and aluminium as residual elements. 1.2% manganese and 0.4% silicon are also present in these steels.
The following datasheet will discuss in detail the mechanical and chemical properties of AISI 1524 carbon steel.
