Introduction
Magnesium alloys are designated using the ASTM and SAE system, in which the first part indicates the two main alloying elements in the alloy and the second part represents their percentages.
Magnesium ZK40A-T5 is a high strength alloy, and is more extrudable than magnesium ZK60A. This alloy however is not weldable.
The following datasheet gives an overview of magnesium ZK40A-T5 alloy.
