Gary graduated from the University of Manchester with a first-class honours degree in Geochemistry and a Masters in Earth Sciences. After working in the Australian mining industry, Gary decided to hang up his geology boots and turn his hand to writing.

When he isn't developing topical and informative content, Gary can usually be found playing his beloved guitar, or watching Aston Villa FC snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

BASF Increases Production Capacity of Butadiene in Europe

BASF, a chemical company, announced that it has planned to construct a butadiene extraction plant in Antwerp, Belgium. The plant will located at the company’s Verbund site and will have a production capacity of 155,000 metric tons per year.

Teijin Fibers Supplies High-Strength Polyester Nanofiber for Use in Running Shoes

Teijin Group's subsidiary, Teijin Fibers is supplying NANOFRONT, a high-strength polyester nanofiber, to New Balance, who will use the product in its running shoe replacement insoles. New Balance Japan will market the insoles and the products will be sold in the company’s directly owned shops in Osaka and Tokyo and also through local sports retail stores.
