At the Intersolar North America 2012 Trade Show, The Heraeus Photovoltaics Business Unit, a developer and manufacturer of silver pastes for the photovoltaic (PV) industry, will showcase its new SOL9600 line of front-side silver metallization pastes with wider processing windows.
The event will be held in San Francisco, USA from July 10 to 12. The SOL9600 series of front-side silver metallization pastes is suitable for applications that require finer line printing and higher efficiency.
The 9600 series silver pastes have been designed for finer line resolution printing on conventional solar cells and they have delivered an increased efficiency of up to 0.3%. Such high efficiency is the result of enhancements in the formulation which allow exceptional contact on lower doped emitters. The innovative series offers several benefits to solar cell manufacturers. It helps decrease production cost by maintaining a high efficiency throughout wider temperature processing windows. In addition, the integration of lower and highly uniform contact resistance along with finer line resolution aids Heraeus’ customers to increase cell efficiencies and manufacturing costs.
Andy London, Global Manager of the Heraeus Photovoltaics Business Unit, stated that the main objective of the company is to increase its customers’ cell value through innovations, which help improve the efficiency of solar cells and reduce the cost per watt.
