Quaker Chemical, a global provider of process chemicals, chemical specialties and services to a wide range of industries, has acquired NP Coil Dexter Industries, Gorgonzola, an Italy-based manufacturer of metal surface treatment chemicals.
Metal surface treatment products from NP Coil Dexter include pretreatment products that are utilized for preparing the metal surface before painting and other finishing techniques. These products have applications in the steel coil market and industrial markets, including appliance, automotive and equipment applications. Metal pretreatments offer better paint adhesion and improved corrosion protection. The acquisition also includes the Italian firm’s leased manufacturing plant and commercial and technical operations.
Michael F. Barry, Chairman, CEO and President of Quaker, stated that the acquisition of NP Coil Dexter is a complement to their existing business and the company is excited to add Coil Dexter’s products to its product range. NP Coil Dexter's solutions have a good reputation in the metal finishing and steel coil markets. The acquisition enables Quaker to extend its presence in the coil coating and surface treatment markets. In addition, it helps offer surface treatment products to their customers and also deliver their metalworking and other solutions to NP Coil Dexter's clients, said Barry.
Quaker Chemical supplies products to various industries, including construction materials, coatings, tube and pipe, aerospace, automotive, aluminum and steel.
