UPM has been presented a quality award by Buyers Laboratory (BLI) for its Yes Silver multifunction office paper at the drupa 2008.
Buyers Laboratory (BLI) is the leading independent international testing laboratory for the document imaging industry. In a test series recently performed on 24 printers, multi-function devices and fax machines from leading manufacturers, Yes Silver multifunction demonstrated good performance with regard to all the criteria and was consequently awarded the “Performance certified 2008” seal of approval. The test machines covered a broad range of applications, from desktop printers with speeds of 8 printed pages per minute through to high performance machines with speeds of up to 250 printed pages per minute.
The BLI subjected the paper to extensive testing. On all the machines, Yes Silver multifunction proved its outstanding operating characteristics. The investigation placed a special focus on misfeeds and double feeds, jam rates and dust. The image quality of the printouts was measured using a reflection densitometer and achieved consistently good results with a high degree of colour density. The packaging was also flawless and fulfilled its protective function to perfection.
“This extensive laboratory test has proven the great reliability and good colour properties of Yes Silver multifunction, and rewards the development work carried out by UPM in the office paper segment during recent years,” says Markku Kukkonen, Vice President Office Papers at UPM. Yes Silver multifunction is characterised by a smooth finish for best runnability characteristics as well as a high level of whiteness for high-contrast printouts.
“The unbiased test results of one of the most renowned independent international testing institutes also provide paper buyers with a neutral, fact-based aid to decision-making. Particularly in the case of high-performance machines, it is important to know how a paper behaves in the machine, because every paper jam costs time and money.”
