BAE Systems Develop Wallpaper Based on Stealth Bomber Technology

Using technology derived from Stealth Bombers, BAE Systems have developed a wallpaper that is able to provide Wi-Fi network security by blocking wireless traffic. However, it is also able to allow mobile phone and radio signals to pass through it uninterrupted.

The wallpaper consists of what is called frequency selective surface panels or FSS. The panels are between 50 and 100µm thick and are made from layers of copper on a polymeric base.

The FSS panels can be applied to all manner of surfaces, including glass and are particularly useful in buildings where several different Wi-Fi networks are operating.
