International Isotopes Receives Notice of Allowance for New Fluorine Extraction Process Patent Application

International Isotopes Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: INIS) announces it has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its patent application  directed to a new fluorine extraction process (FEP).  This patent application is the result of process development work completed by the Company in its Idaho pilot scale facility.

Once the patent application issues as a U.S. Patent, it will provide the Company with additional protections on the claimed fluorine extraction process.  The issued U.S. patent is expected to expire May 8, 2029.  The Company also plans to pursue corresponding international patent applications directed to the new process.

Steve T. Laflin, President and CEO of International Isotopes Inc. said, "The development work carried out in the Idaho pilot scale facility over the past several years has been instrumental in enhancing the efficiencies in the process and achieving the operational performance consistency necessary to scale this into a larger commercial operation.  We are quite pleased with the successful work at the Idaho demonstration facility and will continue to carry out further development work there in parallel with our design and testing of certain components planned for the uranium de-conversion and fluorine extraction processing facility in Hobbs, New Mexico."
