Cama Group, a leading global supplier of high-technology packaging systems to the food and beverage, personal care, household products and other consumer industries, today announced the establishment of its U.S. operations with the opening of a new branch office in Paramus, New Jersey.
The U.S. office is part of a network of Cama facilities located in Europe and Asia serving customers worldwide.
The new operation will provide customer service, warehousing, technical service and sales support to Cama’s growing customer base in North America, which includes large multinational and midsized food companies. The New Jersey location also brings Cama in closer proximity to some of its key, global industry partners, including US-based Nordson Corporation, the world’s leading producer of hot melt adhesive dispensing equipment used in packaging, labeling, converting and a broad range of consumer and industrial products. Cama and Nordson have worked together for more than 25 years, collaborating to provide state-of-the-art packaging systems to Cama’s customers around the world.
“We are excited about the opening of our first facility in the U.S., as it reflects our company’s long-standing commitment to this marketplace, “said Daniele Bellante, Cama’s General Manager. “It also represents a significant step in our growth as a global manufacturer of packaging machinery and robotics technology.”
Cama is one of the fastest growing companies in the packaging industry, achieving record sales in 2009 and consolidating its leadership position in Europe. Despite challenging economic conditions worldwide, the company is on track for another record-setting year in 2010.
Cama’s growth is attributed in large part to its global consulting approach to customers’ packaging automation needs. “We are unique in that we start with the package, not the machinery,” Mr. Bellante said. “Customers rely on our ability to recommend and develop innovative carton designs that are both pleasing to the consumer and efficient to process and assemble. From the packaging engineer’s viewpoint, we offer an ideal combination of robotic loading units utilized with secondary packaging machinery, providing the flexibility needed for a wide range of production. From the machine operator’s standpoint, our systems are easy to operate and maintain and meet the highest safety standards.”
