Ecolab Inc. today announced the launch of DryExx® GS, a dry conveyor lubricant formulated for glass packaging on stainless steel or mixed conveyors used in the beverage, brewery and food processing industries.
The patented, high-performance lubricant, when used in conjunction with Ecolab’s innovative control system, reduces water use in conveyor lines by as much as 97 percent and also helps enhance workplace safety. DryExx GS is the newest product in the DryExx Dry Conveyor Lubrication Program from Ecolab.
“We know the pressures our customers are under to run more efficient and sustainable operations. We developed DryExx GS to help reduce water usage while increasing conveyor speeds and reducing broken bottle counts,” said Timothy P. Mulhere, Ecolab’s senior vice president and general manager, Food & Beverage North America. “Individual customers using DryExx GS have reduced water usage by as much as 1 million gallons annually per production line. In addition, reducing water usage can also improve worker safety by helping to prevent injuries caused by slippery floors.”
With its newest conveyor lubricant, Ecolab is also introducing an innovative, engineered control system to help optimize line efficiency. The DryExx GS conveyor management solution can reduce bottle tipping, breakage and line stoppage, as well as help reduce influent/effluent treatment costs.
Designed for glass packaging on stainless steel, DryExx GS also works with mixed lines of stainless steel and plastic on a range of small to large packaging types.
DryExx GS was recently recognized for its sustainability benefits at InterBev 2010, receiving a “Highly Commended” designation in the Best Sustainability Initiative category of the Beverage Innovation Awards. DryExx GS is now available in United States, Europe and Canada.
