Trelleborg Announces Establishment of New Operation in India

Trelleborg (STO:TRELB) has decided to establish a new operation in Bangalore, in India, to capitalize even more effectively on the future growth in the country, mainly among customers in telecom infrastructure sector and industrial antivibration.

The Trelleborg Group has long been present in India and has a total of about 900 employees there. The new operation is part of the Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area and will comprise development, manufacturing and sales. The operations will be able to commence in the third quarter of 2011 and will initially employ about 70 persons.

“As a result of this new investment, we will move even closer to our customers and will be able to contribute more efficiently to their development,” says Lennart Johansson, Business Area President of Trelleborg Engineered Systems. “With this new operation, we are also establishing a platform for further growth in other sections of the business area.”
