The excellent reproduction of RPC Containers Oakham’s in-mould labelling (IML), allied to the durability and performance of its pails, has again been utilised by Irish brand Colortrend, this time for the relaunch of its Woodcare range.
The relaunch sees the range’s existing varieties – Original Timber Oil, Transparent Wood Stain and Platinum Varnish – joined by a fourth product, Solid Colour Wood Stain, which provides an opaque finish for garden furniture and decking. To underline the growth of the popular range, Colortrend decided to refresh on-pack aesthetics with new label designs, dominated by large, full-colour photographs designed to show consumers typical applications for the different varieties.

One of Ireland’s leading independent paint manufacturers, Colortrend has sourced packaging from RPC Oakham since 2006, in part because of its expertise in IML. "In order to grab consumers’ attention in-store, it’s vital to convey a premium image,” explains Wendy Shaw of Colortrend. "The high-quality finish of RPC’s in-mould labelling highlights the bold colours and graphics of the label designs.”
While the on-pack decoration has been refreshed, the actual container remains unchanged as Colortrend is continuing to use RPC Oakham’s one litre Paintainer and 5 litre S range pail across the Woodcare range. Injection moulded in polypropylene, both sizes offer a convenient, recloseable and robust solution to assist consumers however big the job.
"The excellent functionality of RPC Oakham’s packaging has served Colortrend brilliantly over the past few years,” confirms Wendy Shaw. "We see no reason to change, especially as the flexibility and vivid results of IML allow us to make the range look fresh while maintaining all-important pack performance.”
