Ecology Coatings Upgrades its Laboratory in Ohio

A specialist in the development and licensing of cleantech ultraviolet-curable coatings, Ecology Coatings has upgraded its laboratory in Akron, Ohio with the installation of newly purchased testing and application development equipment.

The company has upgraded the facility to meet customers' demand for its products in the ultraviolet-curable coatings market.

The new equipment will speed up product testing and development of ultraviolet-curable coatings for labeling and packaging markets. In order to increase the sales activities of new coatings in the label and packaging markets, it is necessary to quickly assess the coatings in simulated press conditions. Customers need information that reproduce their manufacturing conditions such as resistance to abrasion, solvents and water, coat weight, coating viscosity and curing speed. Time to market will be significantly improved when these information are provided on time.

Ecology Coatings’ Chief Executive Officer, Bob Crockett stated that as green and sustainable products are gaining importance, the company can leverage the opportunities available in the market. EcoQuik is an eco-friendly, high-performance and low-cost coating solution. The company’s ultraviolet-curable coatings are solvent-free, contain little or no waste and use nearly 80% less energy.
