Lubrizol, an innovative specialty chemical company, announced that its business unit, Lubrizol Advanced Materials has commenced the multimillion-dollar expansion project at its manufacturing plant in Louisville, Kentucky.
The facility expansion will help to address the increasing global demand for Lubrizol’s TempRite chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) resins and compounds. The project is anticipated to continue till 2012.
Lubrizol Advanced Materials produces chemical additives, polymer-based additives and advanced specialty polymers. These materials can be found in products ranging from personal care to pharmaceuticals and plastics to performance coatings. Lubrizol Advanced Materials’ product lines include TempRite Engineered Polymers, Performance Coatings, Noveon Consumer Specialties, Performance Coatings and Estane Engineered Polymers.
The Louisville manufacturing facility has been producing CPVC solutions for use in a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential piping products. The products are offered under the brand names Corzan, BlazeMaster and FlowGuard. CPVC products have turned into preferred building materials for a wide range of applications due to its unique properties, durability, lower material costs, easy installation and inherent temperature and chemical resistance features. TempRite Engineered Polymers’ General Manager stated that the expansion work was a part of the company’s effort taken to support the global strategic growth plan. Lubrizol will support the growth of CPVC products via manufacturing and technology improvements.
