LP Building Products, a manufacturer of quality engineered building materials, is offering a new category of panels designed with LP FlameBlock Oriented Strand Board (OSB) sheathing.
LP FlameBlock Sheathing is available for roof deck and other applications that requires 7/16 thickness and 24/16 span rating.
Judy Musgrove, OSB Marketing Manager, stated that in many regions of North America the LP FlameBlock panels are compatible with roof decks in residential buildings constructed with multiple fire walls. These panels provide a cost-effective solution for builders or constructors to meet fire and snow load code requirements without compromising on design flexibility. They also allow North American builders and designers to build roof decks with uniform thickness.
The LP FlameBlock sheathing is free from hazardous chemicals and the panels can withstand moisture during construction delays. The fire-rated OSB sheathing from LP Building Products is designed using an in house Pyrotite fiberglass-reinforced coating. The product provides fire resistance and structural performance in a single panel. It offers enhanced burn-through resistance by providing a thermal barrier for 20 minutes. The LP FlameBlock products are PS2-rated structural sheathing and ICC certified and come with a Class A Flame Spread Rating.
The LP FlameBlock products can decrease the cost and time required to install either a combination of structural sheathing and gypsum or double layers of gypsum in load-bearing walls. The sheathing offers all the benefits of plywood without carrying out delamination, splitting, warping or cupping processes. The LP FlameBlock OSB panels are available in 19/32, 15/32 and 7/16 categories and in standard and Struct-1 grades.
