W. R. Grace announced that its operating segment, Grace Construction Products has commenced operation at a new manufacturing facility in Gurgaon, India.
The opening of the facility becomes a part of the company’s growth strategy to invest in developing economies. Grace Construction Products is one of the world’s leading provider of building materials and construction chemicals.
Grace’s new plant manufactures concrete admixtures and cement additives and supplies the materials to the Northern Indian concrete and cement producers. The concrete admixtures offered by the company augment the appearance, durability, strength and quality of concrete. Similarly, the cement additives help the cement manufacturers to enhance grinding efficiency and total quality of cement. Thus, the products support construction of stronger and highly energy-efficient structures resulting in a decrease in manufacturing costs.
Grace Construction Products’ President, Andrew Bonham stated that the company is focused on ongoing investment in emerging regions to meet its customers’ requirements. The new plant will enable Grace to improve its service and product delivery times to its Northern Indian clients.
In addition to the Indian site, Grace has opened comparable facilities in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Panama, Colombia and China since 2010. The company has also created a construction venture in Saudi Arabia and in 2010 purchased a Chinese company that manufactures waterproofing products.
