DUNMORE has partnered with DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions to increase the production and supply of backsheets to solar module manufacturers. Both the companies have been working together as a part of DUNMORE's FastCert program to move finished products to the market quickly.
DUNMORE, a significant provider of high-performance thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) backsheets, uses DuPont’s Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film to increase its capability for manufacturing solar backsheets. Tedlar film is one of the preferred outer wall materials used for solar backsheets. DuPont will support DUNMORE to better meet their clients' growing demand for high-performance protective solar backsheets by accelerating the supply. DuPont has made approximately $300 million investment to expand the Tedlar film manufacturing capacity to support the solar industry growth.
Backsheets produced with DuPont Tedlar PVF film is preferred by solar module manufacturers, as it has a proven record for more than 25 years. The demand for DuPont’s film continues to increase. Thus, both the companies work to provide greater supply to module manufacturers by boosting production and reducing instability in material inventory across the industry.
Manufacturers who do not use backsheets based on Tedlar film and now want to utilize the benefit of increased supply can use the FastCert program and have their solar modules certified by authorities like Underwriter Laboratories.
