LMI Aerospace, renowned for supplying expertise design engineering services, defense and technology markets, kits and components to the aerospace, structural assemblies, recently declared that its facility in Savannah, Georgia, was entitled ‘Supplier of the Year for 2011’ by Aviation Partners Boeing (APB).
The LMI Savannah operation delivered, assembled and kitted aircraft products to Gulfstream, the Boeing Company and APB. The APB kits encompass abundant subassemblies and components that improve the existing Boeing aircraft thereby allowing the blended winglets installation for Boeing model 737, 757 and 767 aircraft. The blended winglets enable minimization in the utilization of the amount of fuel, reducing drag and ultimately increasing aircraft's performance.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of LMI, Ron Saks, since its foundation in 2003, Savannah operation has been consistently progressing. Its dynamic services include providing fuselage panel kits and wing modification kits, installation of blended winglets and many more. The plant will soon be expanded to 111,400 sq.ft space. The innovation and commitment of LMI, as well as its excellent customer service has clearly been demonstrated with this achievement.
The launch of novel programs and techniques within a specific period and the remarkable compliance with APB standards or even surpassing APB expectations in terms of support, quality, and delivery enabled LMI facility to achieve the initial recognition.
Previously, this facility was designated as the Georgia Manufacturer of the Year 2011 at the Governor's Awards Luncheon by Georgia Department of Economic Development.
