PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a premier global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, announced its recent success in creating a unified color perception for the interiors of the new 2012 Range Rover Evoque.
PolyOne's customized Smartbatch masterbatch and OnColor colorant solutions for this project included unique color and polymer combinations. These technologies not only harmonized molded-in-color with painted parts made from different materials, they also provided additional UV stabilization and enhanced the overall aesthetics of the vehicle.
PolyOne developed specialty color and additive concentrates for a broad range of polymers to produce consistent trim components in the instrument panel and center console, as well as various interior covers, panels, and housings.
"Automotive customers, especially in the luxury markets, want a consistent look and feel throughout their vehicle," said John Van Hulle, senior vice president and president, Global Color, Additives and Inks, PolyOne Corporation. "Achieving that consistency can be difficult when color-matching over multiple base materials. PolyOne is proud to have the science and formulation expertise that solve these complex challenges to the delight of our customers."
PolyOne serves numerous customers and suppliers in the automotive markets around the world by providing specialized solutions for interiors, exteriors and under-the-hood components.
