MidAmerica Extrusions of Indianapolis, a company specializing in aluminum extrusions, has been acquired by Alexandria Industries, a privately held, high-quality producer of engineered products.
Alexandria Extrusion MidAmerica is the new name of MidAmerica Extrusions. MidAmerica Extrusions’ production team associates and support staff will now be a part of Alexandria Industries and remain at the MidAmerica’s Indianapolis plant.
MidAmerica specializes in precision aluminum extrusions of about 12" in diameter, and custom design engineering services. The company has been manufacturing aluminum extrusions for almost 5 decades for several applications, including architectural structures, playground equipment, material handling, stadium seating, signage and commercial and military transports.
Alexandria Industries provides customized aluminum extrusions, heatsinks, foam molding and plastic injection components, precision machining of ferrous and non-ferrous products that meet the exact specifications of clients.
Tom Schabel, CEO of Alexandria Industries, stated that the purchase further reinforces capabilities of Alexandria Industries to better serve customers who require up to 12” aluminum extrusions. In addition, it extends their reach into additional regions and sectors, and helps to achieve the company’s aim of doubling revenues in a period of five years. The acquisition also adds value to the company’s delivery of custom products in a growing manufacturing industry and improving economy. Schabel added that they seek to effectively integrate MidAmerica’s manufacturing assets, engineering and production capabilities and domain expertise into their business.
