The Taipei Plas is a biennial international exhibition for rubber and plastics technology and will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall.
Arburg, a machine construction company from Germany, will use this year’s exhibition, which will be held in Taipei from 21 to 25 September, to present two of its high-end applications that run on hydraulic Allrounder S machines. The company will demonstrate in the exhibition that the S series machines come with their modular technical equipment and cover a wide range of production spectrum.
The creation of light-guide panels using an Allrounder 630 S with a digital strength of 2,500 kN and a 1300 injection unit size is suitable to the Asian region. The light-guide panels for energy efficient TFT screens with LED back-lighting are created in a two-cavity pattern. The essential high luminous efficiency needs the thinnest components with a similar optical surface structure and therefore, the injection moulding process on this machine is blended with compression injection moulding.
The thickness of the light-guide panels is 0.5 mm, the flow/path wall thickness ratio is 350:1 and the total time is approximately 15 s. The Allrounder 630 S is fitted with hydraulic accumulator technology, electro-mechanical dosage drive and position-regulated screw, and it bears the energy-efficiency label, Arburg "e²". A Multilift H robotic system performs the moulded part transport and it is fully incorporated in the Selogica control system.
Because of its suitability in the health sector, foodstuff compatibility, robustness and durability, liquid silicone (LSR) is utilized for producing high volume of dummies for babies. The production of dummies is made in an eight-cavity mould using an Allrounder 370 S with a digital strength of 700 kN, a 290 injection unit size and a proper LSR equipment. The weight of the moulded part is 5 g and the total time is 30 s. The two-component material is prepared by using an LSR dosage and mingling unit from 2KM.
