Cormetech's SCR Catalyst Technology to Decrease Mercury Emissions Benefits Multiple Utilities

Multiple utilities have applied Cormetech's COMET™ SCR catalyst technology in consideration of the EPA MATS rule which requires a decrease in the amount of mercury emissions.

Over the past two years, Cormetech has designed and commissioned multiple unique solutions of this cutting edge technology to increase Mercury Oxidation and bolster reliability and compliance as a key co-benefit supporting a sound MATS strategy.

"The Mercury oxidation performance our customers have achieved by implementing COMET™, especially when employed in the lower areas of the reactor, has been substantial, greater than 90% in many cases. This cost effective co-benefit solution, can stand alone or add additional dependability to a MATS compliance strategy," Scott Daugherty, Senior Vice President, Business Development stated.

Cormetech expects to continually increase evaluation of currently installed catalyst for its mercury performance potential on MATRS, their (Mercury Assurance Testing Reactor System) in Durham, NC, while at the same time ramping up manufacturing output to match the demand for COMET™ SCR catalyst technology as utilities prepare for MATS.
