EFY Honors Vishay with 2012 Readers' Choice Awards

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced that the company has been honored with three Electronics For You (EFY) 2012 Readers' Choice Awards in the categories of Capacitors, Diodes and Transistors, and Resistors. Presented at a ceremony in Bengaluru, India, the EFY Readers' Choice Awards recognize outstanding brands and organizations that have made significant contributions to the growth of the electronics industry in India.

Winners of the Readers' Choice Awards, established in 2004, are determined by votes from readers of EFY and Electronics Bazaar magazines. This year, awards were presented in 26 product categories, including capacitors, diodes and transistors, and resistors. As a leading manufacturer of these products with a number of innovative solutions, Vishay recorded the most votes in all three categories.

Vishay's capacitors offering features metalized film power devices with the industry's highest RMS current rating for their size; non-magnetic multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) optimized for use in MRI equipment; Vishay Sprague MicroTan® tantalum capacitors with proprietary multi-array packing (MAP) that provides a significant reduction in DC leakage and better stability; the industry's first wet tantalum capacitors in true surface-mountable molded packages for mission-critical applications; and more.

The Vishay Semiconductors diodes portfolio includes Schottky, switching, PIN, and Zener diodes, as well as products for transient voltage suppression (TVS), electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering. Rectifiers from Vishay include patented TMBS® and FRED Pt® devices in low-profile eSMP® packages, which save space, reduce power losses, and improve efficiency in computing, automotive, industrial, telecommunications, and other applications.

Innovative Vishay Dale resistors include industry-first Power Metal Strip® devices for precision current monitoring of sensitive circuits, such as those in electric power meters, industrial systems, and automotive electronic controls; WSL® and WSR® Power Metal Strip resistors for current sensing, voltage division, and pulse applications; industry-first precision thin film surface-mount resistor networks with custom circuit capabilities; compact thick film power resistors for use in wind power systems; and more.
