Poly-Plating, Inc., a nickel and metal plating facility located in Chicopee, MA, is touting its black nickel P.T.F.E. polymer plating services for custom projects. The process is designated as Poly-Ond-B.
The innovative nickel plating company has developed a unique process and product for black nickel P.T.F.E. polymer plating on new products and for the repair and refurbishing of used parts and antiques. Poly-plating works with both private collectors and manufacturers to plate new products and restore others to show condition.
"Our process provides a lubricious coating for an array of products and parts while also providing a variety of colors from smoke, to satin, and chrome," said Edwin Ondrick, Sr., CEO of Poly-Plating, Inc. "The process works very well for gun parts, from hammers to triggers, barrels, and carriers."
Founded in 1976, Poly-Plating is a family business now in its second generation of ownership and management. The company has enjoyed continued success through technological innovations such as the development of Poly-Ond®, a proprietary dry, durable, and slippery coating that offers a range of unique performance properties unmatched by any other metal plating technology.
Adding the Poly-Ond® application to Poly-Plating's unique blackening process allows the nickel to harden to RC 68 while still carrying the characteristics of Teflon. Unlike spray-on processes, the Poly-Plating black nickel is interspersed throughout the coating thickness, providing stunning aesthetics and optimum performance.
The unique process is particularly useful for surfaces that require a contrast in color without sacrificing functionality.
