Freeman Technology Joins Horizon 2020

Over the next three years Freeman Technology will be participating in the European Commission’s ‘Intensified by Design’ Project (IbD) which is funded under the framework of the SPIRE Programme (‘Sustainable Process Industries through Resource and Energy Efficiency’) through Horizon 2020.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 680565.

As the EU’s biggest Research and Innovation programme, it will provide thousands of companies in the European Union with EUR 80 billion over a 7 year period to fund projects with the goal of securing Europe’s position in the global market.

Freeman Technology is part of a project specifically focused on ‘Process Intensification’. Its purpose is to develop high end technologies that result in more efficient operations across industry, ultimately saving resources (time, money, energy, emissions, etc.) and resulting in more competitive processes. The project group is made up of universities, research institutes, and industrial companies of varying sizes from across Europe which in total will receive EUR 8.5 million in funding.

Tim Freeman, Managing Director of Freeman Technology, said “We are delighted to be providing support to the project group who will benefit from the 15 years’ experience we have in the field of powder characterisation. We have always been strong advocates of the industrial value of powder testing and how it can be applied to optimise a wide range of processes. We are looking forward to working with other members of the group to develop innovative and efficient processes and maintaining a strong position for European industry.”
