Upgrades at Hydro's Rockledge Plant Lead to Award

Hydro was nominated by DENSO Manufacturing Michigan for quality and manufacturing improvements made in Rockledge on the micro-tubing product produced for their RS Evaporator program. These improvements not only resulted in an award nomination but led to a new multi-year contract with greater business volume.

Hugo Ravesloot, head of Hydro's precision tubing activities in North America, and Tim Cordes, business development manager, accepted the award on behalf of Rockledge at the award ceremony in Japan .

"This is great encouragement for all our colleagues in Rockledge," said Ravesloot. "To be awarded by an industry leader makes us very proud and will enhance our efforts even more."

DENSO is one of the largest manufacturers of car parts and a main supplier to Toyota, which has a 24.8 percent stake in the company. With increased business volume of 3.19 trillion yen (about USD 28 billion) and an operating profit up 25 percent in the year to March 2006, DENSO ranks among the leading and most successful suppliers in the automotive industry.
