Fire Retardant and Multi-Purpose Tapes from Scapa

AZoM - Metals, Ceramics, Polymer and Composites : Fire Retardant and Multi-Purpose Tapes from Scapa

Technical tape manufacturer Scapa has launched T3601 a self-wound polyethylene-coated cloth tape, with a fire-retardant rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive. The tape combines strength with high durability, and is ideal for temporary joining of fireproof panels. It is waterproof, has a thickness of 0.216mm and a tensile strength of 350N/100mm. Two other tapes have also been released to complement its electrical PVC tape range Scapa 2701, a multi-purpose, monomer-based 0.13mm-thick tape, and Scapa 6021, a general purpose 0.15mm tape. Scapa 2701 combines the high conformability and good elastic memory of a soft PVC backing with the high grab and adhesion of an aggressive rubber-based adhesive. Designed for harnessing, cable bundling, duct sealing and colour-coding, it can also be used as primary electrical insulation. Scapa 6021 offers a higher level of mechanical protection.
