Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Machinability
The machinability rate of C11000 copper is 20%.
Welding
Welding techniques such as soldering, brazing, gas shielded arc
welding, oxyacetylene welding and butt welding are recommended for
C11000 copper. Other welding techniques such as coated metal arc
welding, spot welding and seam welding are not preferred.
Forging
C11000 copper is forged at hot working temperatures ranging from 760
to 871°C (1400 to 1600°F). The hot forgeability rate of this metal is
65%.
Hot Working
C11000 copper has excellent hot working property.
Cold Working
C11000 copper has excellent cold working property.
Annealing
Annealing of C11000 copper is performed at temperatures ranging from
371 to 649°C (700 to 1200°F).
Applications
UNS C11000 copper is best suited for plumbing fittings and other
electrical components that do not require prolonged machining
performance.
