Introduction
UNS C14700 sulfur bearing copper alloy has high corrosion resistance, free machining properties, and 90-96% IACS conductivity. It is generally available in the form of wire and rod.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Machinability

Welding
Brazing, butt welding, and soldering methods are recommended for welding the UNS C14700 copper alloy. Spot welding, oxyacetylene welding, gas shielded arc welding, seam welding, and coated metal arc welding methods are suited to this alloy.
Forging
The UNS C14700 copper alloy can be forged at temperatures ranging from 760 to 871°C (1400 to 1600°F). Forgeability rate of this alloy is 65.
Hot Working
The UNS C14700 copper alloy has excellent hot working abilities.
Cold Working
The UNS C14700 copper alloy has good cold working capacity.
Annealing
Annealing of UNS C14700 copper alloy can be done at 427 to 849°C (800 to 1200°F).
