Metrohm's Titrando titrators have been designed for satisfying precise titration demands. These titrators have an extensive range of traceability and security options, making them suited for use in regulated industries. Titrandos can perform all common titrations, and provide a range of automation and control options.
Titrando systems are used in tandem with intelligent iTrode electrodes. These electrodes possess a data chip with relevant sensor data, such as the serial number and article, service life information, calibration data and validity of the calibration.
When the iTrode is connected to the titrator, data is read in. Hence, editing errors or mix-ups are excluded, and it is possible to trace back each analytical result to the electrode used.
Similar to the iTrodes, the Dosing or Exchange units used with Titrando systems also have a data chip. Key data, such as the type of titer, reagent, last titer determination and expiry dates, are stored on this chip.
Using this data, the Titrando performs titrations accurately. The titration system is also capable of helping with decisions. The titrator verifies if data obtained is compatible with the method chosen, and informs users of any variations found. This enables a reduction in titration errors.
The Titrando can be integrated to a LIMS with an Ethernet connection and achieve timesavings using a sample processor connected through a USB. The USB interface can also be used for connecting barcode readers, printers or other auxiliary devices.
These systems provide a range of features to guarantee compliance with GMP/GLP and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations. Irrespective of whether the Titrando is operated using the tiamo software or a Touch Control, an audit trail can be implemented. Using the 855 Robotic Titrosampler, completely automated copper bath determinations are also possible.
In the optimal configuration, a Titrando titration system is capable of operating 6 galvanically separated measuring inputs and 12 burets. It can also be deployed for parallel titration.
Reasons for automating analyses include a high sample throughput, repetitive and tedious manual work, and a very high time pressure. Metrohm offers an extensive selection of automation options for the Titrando, thereby improving consistency and productivity.
