MIRA P represents a significant advancement over conventional raw material identification and verification (RMID) techniques, as it is engineered to yield lab-quality outcomes in non-traditional testing scenarios like materials inspection at the loading dock.
Manufacturers can save time and resources by using MIRA P to quickly and easily verify the consistency and quality of materials. From method development to model verification and immediate on-site material sampling, Metrohm Raman automates the entire process.
Features
- Clear "Pass" or "Fail" outcomes are displayed quickly.
- Attachments for through-package sampling of liquids, solids, and powders are available.
- MIRA Cal P is a specialized software that is easy to use and supports complete compliance for regulated industries.
- Workflows that are brief, easy to understand, and automated for basic material inspection.
- Sensitive interrogation using orbital raster scanning without consuming, destroying, or burning the sample.
Benefits
Fast Results in Seconds

In a matter of seconds, MIRA P gathers, processes, and analyzes data, runs statistical analyses, and provides the user with a clear "Pass" or "Fail" result.
To confirm the identity of raw materials, the device computes the result using multivariate probabilistic algorithms. This method is far more dependable and accurate than conventional HQI spectral matching.
Safe Sampling of Sensitive Materials

One special feature shared by all Metrohm Raman systems is the Orbital Raster Scan (ORS). ORS rasters the sampling laser over a wide area to increase the amount of data gathered with each scan. Even with heterogeneous samples, ORS achieves an exceptional resolution and lowers the risk of sample burning or degradation.
Move Sampling from the Lab to the Loading Dock

A major divergence from traditional methods is the use of handheld Raman in RMID, where most materials testing is done in the receiving area.
Automated workflows are also available for non-technical users. This allows anyone to quickly, safely, and accurately analyze a sample.
MIRA Cal P: Dedicated Software for Full Confidence in Compliance
Metrohm Raman is committed to providing the most straightforward, accurate, and efficient use of MIRA P for RMID with MIRA Cal P. Features like comprehensive reports and audit trail functions are included in the software to help ensure safe and well-documented procedures that comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
With the new Calibrate/Verify Accessory, two-part system verification is now possible. First, the optimal wavenumber calibration over the whole range is obtained by applying the ASTM method E1840 for Toluene-Acetonitrile. Second, worry-free compliance with USP 1120 and EP 2.2.48 is ensured by the use of NIST-Traceable polystyrene, which is used to verify wavenumber accuracy.
