The Rigaku SmartLab is the newest high-resolution X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) currently available in the market today. Featuring the new SmartLab Studio II software, the SmartLab user is provided with a one-of-a-kind intelligent user guidance expert system that guides each specific experimental stage.
Engineered for Performance
SmartLab’s XRD system features the PhotonMax high-flux 9 kW rotating anode X-ray source coupled with a HyPix-3000 high-energy-resolution, 2D multidimensional semiconductor detector that supports 0D, 1D and 2D measurement modes, enabling the single-detector handling of all applications. Using this innovative feature, there is no need to prepare and switch individual detectors for various applications.
The HyPix-3000 detector, meanwhile, could be used in obtaining 2D powder diffraction patterns which could then be processed to deliver reliable qualitative analysis by using only 2D pattern information.
The SmartLab XRD system incorporates a high-resolution θ/θ closed loop goniometer drive system with an available in-plane diffraction arm. The system’s new Cross-Beam-Optics (CBO) family features fully-automated switchable reflection and transmission optics (CBO-Auto) that further improves device functionality.
Usable Design
Enabling a fully-automated optical system to be workable with a computer-controlled alignment system, the SmartLab XRD is significantly easier to use than other XRD systems. Its efficiency and functionality are strengthened by the SmartLab Studio II software. With these features, the SmartLab XRD minimizes the complexity of hardware operations.
Redefined Functionality
The SmartLab system may be utilized for analyzing a wide range of materials, including nanomaterials, thin films, powders, textile samples, or liquids since the machine is able to process a vast number of materials. With ease, mapping measurements and real-time operando or in situ processes could be performed by the system by utilizing the Rigaku SmartLab Studio II, an integrated software suite that incorporates all SmartLab functions.
Apart from these, the SmartLab system also presents with robust security and validation protocols to ensure that each component of the package performs at par with Rigaku standards as well as regulatory guidelines, including 21 CFR Part 11 of the US EDA regulations governing electronic records and electronic signatures (ER/ES).
