Steel is a ferrous metal and is an alloy of iron and other elements. The most common element that is combined with iron is carbon. Other alloying elements that are used include manganese, chromium, vanadium and tungsten.
Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a high temperature semi-crystalline thermoplastic. PEEK was discovered by ICI in 1982. This polymer has the ability to be used continuously to a temperature of 250°C (480°F) and in hot water or steam without the material permanently losing any physical properties.
Xenon was discovered on July 12, 1898, by an English chemist Morris Travers and a Scottish chemist Sir William Ramsay. Xenon was discovered during the study of liquefied air. This element was first seen in the residue remaining after fractional distillation of liquid air.

Seaborgium was first prepared by Albert Ghiorso and his team at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in Berkeley, California in 1974. They bombarded californium-249 atoms with oxygen-18 ions in a Super-Heavy Ion Linear Accelerator to produce seaborgium.

Samarium was first observed spectroscopically by a Swiss chemist, Jean Charles Galissard de Marignac in 1853 while working with dydimia. Paul-Émile Lecoq de Boisbaudran, a French chemist first isolated samarium along with didymium from the mineral samarskite in 1879.
Rutherfordium was first discovered by a team of scientists led by Georgy Flerov at the Russian Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna in 1964 while bombarding plutonium atoms with neon.
