Some 4.567 billion years ago, our solar system's planets spawned from an expansive disc of gas and dust rotating around the sun. While similar processes are witnessed in younger solar systems throughout the Milky Way, the formative stages of our own solar system were believed to have taken twice as long to occur.

UBC GmbH, based in Murr - Germany, recently launched their new urban bike, the coren®, which has a frame made exclusively from Umeco’s MTM®49 -3 epoxy resin systems reinforced with high tensile strength woven carbon fabrics and unidirectional carbon fibres, and compatible adhesive film.

BASF’s Basotect Melamine Foam Lowers Noise Level in Russian Passenger Helicopter

Hearing protection is no longer needed thanks to Basotect®, the open-celled melamine foam from BASF: Passengers can leave hearing protection behind when boarding a luxurious version of the Russian Mi 8 helicopter. The helicopter, which is over 25 meters long and is used for passenger transport, has been equipped with an improved sound insulation system and is currently ready for flight.

Ten University-Led Proposals for Innovative Space Technology Study Selected by NASA

NASA has selected 10 university-led proposals for study of innovative, early-stage space technologies designed to improve shielding from space radiation, spacecraft thermal management and optical systems. The 1-year grants are worth approximately $250,000 each, with an additional year of research possible.

Bombardier’s Advanced Composite Wings to Undergo Complete Airframe Static Test

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that the cockpit and all fuselage sections for the CSeries aircraft's first flight test vehicle (FTV1) have arrived at Mirabel, Québec, and that the assembly of FTV1 is in progress. Additionally, the first wings for the all-new CSeries aircraft are now being mated to the test airframe that will be used during the Complete Airframe Static Test (CAST).
