Exousia Advanced Materials, Inc. and Shield Industries, Inc. ointly announced their successful release of Shield's revolutionary Bio-Shield industrial epoxy coatings. Bio-Shield is a family of epoxy coatings that are uniquely formulated with patented VISTAMER(R) engineered rubber particles.
VISTAMER rubber is made in a reactive gas process that alters its surface composition. This allows it to chemically bond with the material to which it is added, resulting in significantly enhanced performance characteristics. Exousia and Shield developed the advanced Bio-Shield line of coatings to combat the enormous worldwide cost of corrosion, which is estimated to exceed $1.0 trillion annually.
Exousia and Shield have also just concluded a two-week trade mission to China in which the two companies met with top executives from business and government, including Sinopec, Northern International Group, South China Power Grid, the Municipality of Tianjin and Chang'An Motors, to name a few. During this trip various marketing and customer relationships were established around the commercialization and distribution of Bio-Shield. The companies anticipate that business commerce with Chinese customers and business partners will commence in the first quarter of 2008.
"Bio-Shield with VISTAMER rubber represents substantial progress in high- performance industrial coatings used to prevent corrosion," comments Exousia CEO Wayne Rodrigue. "Businesses and governments are continually seeking effective solutions to contend with a rapidly-corroding worldwide industrial infrastructure, and Bio-Shield with VISTAMER rubber addressees a sizable and motivated market. Exousia is excited to have jointly developed Bio-Shield and we anticipate it will drive substantial demand for VISTAMER rubber. We also expect that our alliance with Shield Industries will open up numerous markets for Exousia, both domestically and overseas."
"The development of VISTAMER rubber was a breakthrough because of chemical bonding of surface modified rubber particles with other materials," comments inventor Dr. Bernard Bauman. "For the first time it became possible to create entirely new composite materials with enhanced performance benefits not previously available. Combining VISTAMER rubber with industrial coatings has produced a unique, high-performance product," adds Dr. Bauman. "Exousia is also exploring a new family of advanced epoxy and polyester resins that will integrate surface modified plastic particles that impart significant performance benefits in numerous high-volume applications."
