Japan’s Marui Orimono and Toray have formed a joint venture that will launch on April 1. The joint venture will be known as Marui Textile Nantong.
Marui Orimono will own 80.5% of the of Marui Textile Nantong, and Toray will own the remainder.
The joint venture will be located in China and will manufacture polyester and nylon fabrics and textiles. The nylon will be used in the manufacture of airbags, while the polyester will be used in the clothing market. The fabric plant is scheduled to start production in 2005.
