Memry Corporation, a leading provider of nitinol and polymer components for medical devices, today announced the launch of ‘Micro to the Max,’ a new product line that is focused exclusively on a precision micro component platform for medical devices requiring minute-scale components.
The ‘Micro to the Max’ launch will be at the annual Medical Design & Manufacturing Conference West from January 28 through January 31 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, where Memry is exhibiting its full line of products for the medical devices market.
With a variety of micro processing capabilities, the ‘Micro to the Max’ platform offers micro laser drilling services for precision hole placement with diameters as small as 0.0006 inches, micro plasma and laser welding with wire diameters as small as 0.0015 inches and micro atraumatic end treatments to minimize device and surrounding tissue damage. The initial release of this product line also includes micro coils made of nitinol, tungsten and other precious metals with diameters as small as 0.001 inches and micro wires with multiple surface finish options.
Robert Belcher, CEO of Memry Corporation, said, “Successful surgical treatments often depend on the ability of medical devices, specifically the enabling technology within a device, to hold tighter tolerances on smaller components within the device assembly. The scope of capabilities that this platform provides will enhance our customers’ design capabilities beyond conventional medical devices manufacturing technology. ‘Micro to the Max’ is the latest example of Memry’s commitment to providing medical device manufacturers with components and technologies that will enhance finished device performance in minimally invasive therapeutic treatments.”
