Genevac, a leading supplier of sample concentration and solvent removal technologies, has announced that it has chosen Pittcon 2008 in New Orleans (USA) to exhibit it latest products and applications innovations.
Visitors to Booth 1237 will be able to see the EZ-2 Series II centrifugal evaporator. Similar in size to a rotary evaporator the innovative design of the EZ-2 presents real advantages within parallel synthesis and medicinal chemistry laboratories, as well as for general-purpose solvent removal in life science applications. Using the most advanced proven technology in evaporation science, the EZ-2 is able to evaporate solvents in typically half the time of other evaporator designs. Running an EZ-2 Series II evaporator is as simple as 1,2,3. Just load your samples, select maximum safe temperature for samples, select solvent type and hit start. Offering true unattended operation capability an EZ-2 requires no user training, even a beginner can competently use the system within 5 minutes.
Also on display will be Genevac's innovative SampleGenie™ technology. Pooling of fractions containing a common analyte, to yield a single sample, saves time and is therefore highly desirable. Until SampleGenie - no commercial technology existed for pooling and concentrating large volume fractions. Available in 3 sizes (50ml, 125 ml and 300ml) the ingenious patented design of SampleGenie™ enables Genevac's popular EZ-2 and HT series evaporators to accelerate the pooling of multiple large volume fractions into a single small sample vial for high-throughput applications including compound storage, drug development and environmental analysis.
For biological labs looking for highly affordable, careful and fast sample drying - Genevac will display its latest miVac sample concentrator. Unlike blowdown evaporator systems that often have no means of preventing sample splashing during concentration - the new miVac sample concentrators with pressure control minimise the dangers of sample cross-contamination and enhance solvent recovery.
