Dunlop and Goodyear recently launched breakthrough tires with DuPont Kevlar to improve sidewall strength shock absorbance and enhance the total driving experience.
Dunlop’s SP Sport Maxx TT is a new ultra-high performance tire that features Kevlar® Engineered Elastomer in the complete apex of the tire. It creates a stiffer sidewall that is more resistant to torsion, tension and heat, and ensures increased stability during cornering, as well as enhanced road feedback and more precision driving.
Goodyear’s high-performance Eagle® tire with ResponsEdge Technology™ incorporates a sound- and shock-absorbing InsuLayer™ made with Kevlar® to help provide a smooth, quiet ride and even treadwear. In addition, the Goodyear Wrangler® and Fortera® on- and off-road tires use SilentArmor Technology™ with Kevlar® to enhance the total driving experience.
“Both companies increasingly rely on the technical and brand value of Kevlar® to support high-performance tire developments and extend penetration into dynamically-growing markets such as China,” said Bruce Pearce, global Goodyear/Dunlop account manager, DuPont Advanced Fiber Systems.
