Scotch Power Cable Jacket Repair Tape 2234 from 3M has a tough, abrasion-resistant backing for jacket repair on industrial power cables.
In extremely abrasive environments, the original jacket on cables often gets damaged and needs to be repaired. Examples of these demanding "dragline" applications are temporary cable installs, generator cables, cutters, cranes, conveyors and lifting magnets in a variety of markets, such as shipyards, oil and gas, airports, wind farms, cellular towers and heavy industrials. This tape is flexible, and the self-fusing property of the mastic keeps out moisture.
In addition to protecting against abrasion and moisture, Scotch Cable Jacket Repair Tape 2234 is UV, chemical and oil resistant. Because it is self-fusing, no heat is required when applying. The tape will not corrode copper or aluminum conductors.
