New Stainless Steel Plant for the UAE

The Gulf Investment Company will invest $200 million in a new stainless steel factory that will be built in the Unites Arab Emirates. The project will be implemented by United Stainless Company which is partly owned by Gulf Investment Corporation.

Other participants in the project include Italian company Danielli, British Steamcore, which will establish the plant, and Finnish Outokumpu, which will provide technology and technical assistance.

The proposed plant has a design capacity of 90,000 tonnes per year of cold rolled austenitic stainless steel. Production is scheduled to commence in 2007.
