On the occasion of MATERIALICA – 12th international trade fair for material applications, surfaces, and product engineering in Munich from October 13 through 15, 2009, MunichExpo Veranstaltungs GmbH is pleased to announce the MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award 2009 which will take place for the seventh time.
The award is granted to concepts characterized by superior achievements in terms of innovation, design or engineering in the categories Material, Surface + Technology and Product – and, since 2008 - also in the category CO2 efficiency. With the introduction of this new category, the prize donators are reacting to special issues that climatic changes and environmental pollution pose to companies and developers alike. This year, we are proud to introduce the MATERIALICA Student Award that comes with prize money of € 1,500.00.
Designers, material developers, engineers, manufacturers and students are invited to participate in this award. The main focal point of this award is on aerospace, automotive, engineering, medical technology, energy management, sports and technical consumer goods. By participating in this award, enterprises can outline their innovative competence and gain a valuable marketing instrument to position their products on the market more successfully.
The award seeks to outline the importance of materials for industrial design-oriented applications and to encourage a dialog between designers, material manufacturers, product manufacturers and engineers. The winners will be selected by an independent specialist jury that also grants a Best of Award in each category. The Best of Award winners will be announced during the trade fair MATERIALICA (October 13 through 15, 2009) in a festive award ceremony. All awarded products will be presented effectively during the entire course of the trade fair at the MATERIALICA Design Show.
