Praxair Win Contract to Supply Chinese Railway Car Manufacturer

Praxair China has signed a contract with Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Works, a subsidiary of China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Ltd., for the supply of liquid argon.

Nanjing Puzhen is a leading manufacturer of railway trains and cars as well as urban metro trains in China. It is also the research & development center for high-speed multiple-unit trains and double-decker air-conditioned trains.

The liquid argon that Praxair China supplies to Puzhen will be used for welding processes during vehicle production.

"Winning this contract with Puzhen, the premier state-owned company for rail transit vehicle manufacturing in China, is very encouraging," said David Chow, president of Praxair China. "It demonstrates our capability to serve the fast-growing high-speed railway industry in China, a key sector in its development of the national transportation infrastructure."
