Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world, today announced the opening of a new petroleum and chemical testing laboratory in Albany, New York.
The new laboratory provides local and regional testing, supporting petroleum related cargo inspection and testing requirements for clients. The expansion of Intertek laboratory services to the Albany region supports the growing demand and need for testing services in the market.
By providing important quality testing for ethanol bio-fuel blends, ultra-low sulphur diesel, fuel oils, gasoline, asphalt and other products, the facility supports fuel, bio-fuel and petroleum industry clients.
“The new Port of Albany laboratory helps save clients' time and money. Having local laboratory testing benefits our clients, since they don’t have to ship test samples to distant labs and lose time. Our new Albany lab benefits customers by having cargo samples tested sooner, allowing clients to ship their petroleum and chemical cargos faster and with less delay,” said Bob Johnson, vice president for Intertek’s USA Eastern Region.
Jay Gutierrez, division executive vice president for Oil, Chemical & Agri and Government Services, said, “The new Albany laboratory is a strategic addition to our USA petroleum and chemical testing laboratory network, one of the largest in the country. Upper New York state and the Great Lakes are an important market for Intertek. By investing enhanced testing expertise into the Albany region, we bring expanded and unmatched local services to our clients.”
