CARBO Ceramics Awards Construction Contract to KBR

KBR (NYSE: KBR) announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide engineering and construction management services for the construction of a new ceramic proppant manufacturing line at the CARBO Ceramics Inc. plant in Toomsboro, Ga.

The proppant manufacturing line is designed to produce 250-million pounds-per-year of product at completion. Construction is expected to be completed before the end of 2011. The total installed cost of the project is $62 million.

“KBR is pleased to continue our work with CARBO Ceramics, and we look forward to working with our client to help meet the increasing market demand for ceramic proppant,” said Tom Vaughn, President, KBR Power and Industrial.
