Leading wholesale logs and commercial firewood supplier Logs Direct has announced plans to expand its services to meet growing demand from new and existing customers.
Logs Direct has enjoyed long-term success as wholesale log supplier to major clients including the National Trust, CPL Distribution and Fuel Express, alongside many independent merchants and grocery stores. Typically, the company supplies wholesale firewood to CPL and Fuel Express, who then repackage the logs and sell them on to other businesses and consumers.

Now, however, comes that time of year when a roaring log fire begins to sound appealing to families across the country. The winter of 2009-2010 saw temperatures plummet to record lows, whilst the recession meant many homes and businesses witnessed gas and heating bills rise to unprecedented levels. To address this, Logs Direct is now opening up its commercial firewood business to new customers, expanding on its successful business-to-consumer portal, which is the UK market leader in kiln dried firewood.
At the same time, Logs Direct is strengthening its wholesale logs business with new customers and products. More businesses are realising the importance of firewood as a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to coal. With a strong presence in commercial firewood markets, Logs Direct’s carbon neutral, FSC-accredited offering is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for wholesale logs.
One example of Logs Direct’s reputation is as a major commercial firewood supplier to the National Trust, playing its part in the success of the rebuilt Gondola steam yacht. This throwback to the Victorian era plies Coniston Water 150 years after the original undertook its first public voyage.
As a steam-powered vehicle, Gondola was originally fuelled by coal. However, since 2008, the National Trust’s commitment to the environment led to a refit that started Gondola burning sustainable logs, reducing carbon emissions by 90%. Logs Direct is proud to supply the firewood, from its Blazers Eco range, that fuels this prestigious vessel.
