Praxair China to Supply Industrial Gases for Hua Li Project

Praxair China has signed a long-term supply contract with Shanghai Hua Li Microelectronics Corporation to supply industrial gases to its 12-inch integrated-circuit chips production line.

Hua Li is a state-owned company engaged in the production of advanced integrated circuits, located in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park of Shanghai, one of the top high-tech parks in China. The Hua Li project is the latest national priority project for advanced integrated circuits.

Under the contract, Praxair China will expand its existing pipeline complex in the Zhangjiang High-Tech Park to supply ultra-high-purity oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen and helium to support the Hua Li project. The expansion will further strengthen Praxair China’s position as the leading gas supplier in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park.

“Hua Li is glad to collaborate with Praxair, a reliable partner in gas supply that effectively contributes its expertise in serving the semiconductor industry and our critical project,” commented Mr. Wenbiao Fu, Chairman of Hua Li.

“Praxair is proud of being selected by Hua Li to be their supplier for this very important growth project. We are committed to bringing value-added and energy-efficient solutions to our customers in China," said Joe Cappello, president of Praxair Asia.

The semiconductor integrated circuit industry has been defined as a national strategic and fundamental industry in China since the 1990’s. The Chinese government planned a number of national priority projects in order to catch up with world-class integrated circuit technology. Praxair has been participating actively in the dramatic growth of China’s integrated circuit industry.
