PSI Chinese subsidiary PSI Information Technology Co., Ltd. has been awarded by Shougang Qian’An Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. with the implementation of the production management system PSImetals 5 for the planning of two steel making plants and two hot rolling mills.
The new system is based on the PSImetals component Planning and provides an integrated capacity balancing based on the rules and constrains of steel making and hot rolling.
Shougang Qian’An decided in favour of PSImetals 5 because the solution met the main requirement organising an integrated capacity time planning which provides a detailed overview of the casting and rolling sequences for several weeks or for several months. PSImetals 5 calculates the line schedules by considering the rules of casters and hot rolling mill as well as shipping and furnace age. The customer gets a clear production overview for the whole month or a scenario for several months.
Shougang Qian’An Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Shougang Group and is located on the Qian’An peninsula of the Hebei province.
PSImetals 5 incorporates the independent, complementary solutions of AIS, PSI and 4Production into one new integrated offering, creating a product line that provides an end-to-end solution for the complete supply chain. Metals-specific products support all processes from planning to production execution, in full consideration of the complexity of metals production. PSImetals 5 enables manufacturers of steel and non-ferrous metals to ensure their competitive edge by helping them reach the goal of full, on-time, quality certified delivery of their customer orders, while respecting inventory, productivity and cost performance targets.
