Richmond Wholesale Partners with EcoLogic for Biodegradable Packaging

Richmond Wholesale, the leading west coast food distributor in the United States, has announced it is moving to biodegradable packaging as a key element of its Richmond Wholesale Sustainable Packaging Initiative.

Richmond has entered into an agreement with Oakbrook, IL-based EcoLogic LLC. The plan calls for the EcoPure™ additive sold by EcoLogic to be in 100% of all plastic packaging Richmond purchases.

EcoPure™ renders plastics biodegradable in landfills and composting environments and is also 100% recyclable in a normal waste management stream.

“Richmond Wholesale is committed to doing our part for the environment,” said Carl Doellstedt, Director of RPQ. “I have become very familiar with this additive and am convinced this is a vital step for Richmond to immediately help reduce the amount of plastic in landfills.”
