DuPont Opens New Production Facility for Butacite G Safety Glass Interlayers

DuPont opened a new production facility today to support growth in Central and Eastern Europe for its DuPont™ Butacite® G safety glass interlayers made entirely from recycled material. Seventy workers will be employed at the facility.

“This investment demonstrates DuPont’s focus on Central and Eastern Europe and supports our commitment to deliver science-based innovations and sustainable solutions for our customers,” said William J. Harvey, president – DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers. “The patented technology used at this facility enables product waste to be recycled and provides value through its reuse in safety glass interlayers made of 100 percent recycled material.”

DuPont™ Butacite® interlayers are used to protect solar cells in photovoltaic arrays and in the production of laminated glass structures for automotive and architectural applications such as windshields and safety glass. DuPont offers a broad portfolio of interlayer solutions including Butacite® and SentryGlas® with global production capabilities in the Czech Republic, Germany, Korea and the United States.

“This new production facility for Butacite® G contributes to the economic development of the area and its central location will enable efficient distribution of product throughout Europe,” said Sona Krausova – DuPont country leader in the Czech Republic.
